BACKGROUND: Our membership was in need of a morale boost and decided that doing something to help others would help us shake off the "blues" and get excited about creating new artwork. We decided on making artwork with sunflowers as the central theme, print greeting cards with the artwork, and sell the cards at our booth at the 2022 Livermore ArtWalk. Some members also donated their original drawings to be sold as well. We agreed to donate all proceeds (100% of the profits) to the World Central Kitchen to help provide fresh meals to Ukrainian refugees.
The 2022 Livermore ArtWalk was a great success. We raised $2850 through sales of the cards and original artwork. And there was one generous individual who purchased five original drawings!
To assist us in our endeavor to help Ukraine refugees, Ravinder Lal, owner of multiple UPS stores in the South Bay, generously covered the cost of all printing services. We owe him a big thanks! As you can see below in the Gallery, the response was phenomenal. Twenty-two pieces (22) were submitted and printed into cards. Our donation drive has ended, but you can still purchase cards (depending on the artist and their supply). Each card is only $5, plus local sales tax.
